Miriam Liedvogel
Research
I am fascinated by the phenomenon of bird migration. With my research I aim to link phenotypic traits to their underlying molecular mechanisms.
Here at the CAnMove Centre I am working on the genetics of migration in the willow warbler, a small long-distance passerine that exhibits a migratory divide across central Scandinavia. The aim of this research project is to study gene expression patterns and genetic variation in the willow warbler, and to identify genes/genomic regions and signalling pathways that modulate phenotypic variation in migratory traits.
I am also part of the Molecular Ecology and Evolution Lab.
