Research
I am interested in the ecological and evolutionary basis of variation within and among populations, and how such variation leads to the origin and persistence of species.
For my research, I use a variety of approaches that include field and laboratory experiments, molecular population genetics, and GIS modeling. My research is not restricted to particular taxonomic groups, since I wish to develop a general understanding of such processes throughout the animal kingdom. Current projects focus on insects (mainly damselflies), marine fishes, lizards and birds.
