Research interest

My main interests are conservation in general and ecosystem functions, such as pollination. I am interested in how landscape changes and anthropogenic activity affects these services. How can we manage agricultural systems to the benefit of both organisms, ecosystem functioning and human well-being?

The effect of landscape context on organisms very much depend on the organism ability to move and disperse. This will could also have affects on the possibilities for species to survive and reproduce and therefore the diversity we have in the landscape. It will also affect the the ecosystem services in the landscape as they are performed by species interacting with each other and the environment.

Organic farming has been suggested to benefit the diversity and in most cases shown to do so but the effect can change with landscape context. Can this also be true for ecosystem services like pollination and does the effect change over time?

I currently study how organic farming, landscape context and historical landscape processes such as the time since transition from conventional to organic farming, affects pollinator diversity and pollination services.
