Research
My research interest lies mostly within conservation biology and in particular avian conservation and ecology. One focus is about how effects consequences of migration and dispersal are manifested in phylogeography patterns and speciation. So far I have carried out molecular studies on waders and penguins.
My present work focus on bird distributions and trends, mainly by analysing data connected to the Swedish Bird Survey (in cooperation with Professor Åke Lindström). A major ongoing project in cooperation with the Swedish Board of Agriculture aims to evaluate how changes of farmland bird populations are related to changes in farmland land-use. The project will predict the effects of various changes in EU’s agri-environment schemes on bird diversity. This will be achieved by modelling various scenarios in future farmland practice.
