My main study subject is genetic consequences of and the mechanisms behind inbreeding and inbreeding depression. This is done by using molecular markers, as microsatellites and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). Using different methods to estimate inbreeding, such as linkage mapping and linkage disequilibrium, heterozygosity-fitness correlations (HFC), extra-pair paternity (EPP) and population structures.
My reasearch is mainly done on wild blue tits in a population on Revingehed outside Lund, but also includes blue tits from other parts of Europe. Also, some studies are done on a captive population of zebra finches.
